Metro Line 1 Project has a total length of 19.7 km, including 2. 6 km underground with a total investment of more than 43.757 billion VND, invested by JICA - Japan. The route has a total of 14 stations (including 11 aerial stations and three underground stations) starting from Long Binh depot (District 9 - Ho Chi Minh City) and ending at Ben Thanh Station (District 1 - HCMC).

GS E&C Vietnam is a construction company that handles Package 2: Civil works for the elevated section from Ba Son to Binh Duong province (L=17.1km) and depot.

Metro line 1 has expected to complete construction and start operation in Quarter IV 2021.
